RECYCLING AT THE SLICE OF SHOREVIEW
The Slice of Shoreview recycles cans and bottles as well as corrugated cardboard.
During the weekend you will see bright green plastic recycling bins throughout Island Lake Park. (The signs on the Slice bins will be different from the one pictured at left) Please deposit the following containers in these bins:
•  Aluminum cans
•  Steel cans
•  All glass bottles
•  Plastic bottles
Plastic bottles with a neck that have #1 or #2 symbols on the bottom. (This includes just about all plastic bottles consumed at the Slice, such as water, pop, juice, and milk bottles)
These containers will all be collected and Waste Management will sort them out at its recycling center in Minneapolis.
Please do not place cups of any kind in the recycling bins, even if they have a recycling symbol on them.
Volunteers will be collecting corrugated cardboard from food vendors and placing them in a container in the parking lot.

In 2005, the Slice of Shoreview collected 320 pounds of cans and bottles and 450 pounds of cardboard.  That adds up to 20% of the Slice's weight by volume!
Thanks to the National Association for PET Container Recovery (NAPCOR) for its generous sponsorship of the Slice of Shoreview recycling program!
