Who should volunteer:
  • People new to Shoreview (It’s a great way to meet your neighbors)
  • People who are single (It’s a great way to meet other single people)
  • Families (It’s a great way to teach kids about volunteering)
  • Busy people who are looking for a “short-term” commitment (Shifts are 2-4 hours only!)
  • Groups looking for Community Service opportunities

Did you know:
  • The entire Slice of Shoreview is put on by volunteers?
  • Last year, it took 80 volunteers to put on the Slice of Shoreview 3-day event?
  • This year we have added quite a few events; and are looking to top off our total volunteer number at 100!!!!
Some volunteer opportunities:
  • Information Booth – Be in-the-know for everything happening at the Slice. Sit under a nice tent and answer questions for Slice attendees.
  • Front Gate – Enjoy a few hours in the sunshine and make sure all vehicles entering the park are “authorized” to do so.
  • Talent Show – A great opportunity to volunteer and watch a show! We need a couple volunteers to check in contestants, and tally votes.
  • Flyer Distribution – Get out in the community and get a chance to see the Shoreview businesses. We need a few volunteers to distribute flyers to local businesses the week of July 14th.
  • Park Closing – A great family activity! We need many volunteers to do the unglamorous job of cleaning up the park. We provide the bags and gloves (and some golf carts); you provide the manpower. The more people we can get cleaning up, the quicker it goes. Last year we were done in two hours. I would like to beat that record this year, and be done in 1-1/2 hours. But that will take about 20 volunteers!
